Climbing - Natural Surfaces

Instruct - Multi Pitch (Lead)

 

 

An outdoor activity, consisting of climbing a natural (non man-made) structure. Participants in this activity are protected from falling by use of a system of ropes and safety devices (known as a belay system), where the rope is generally below the climber and the climber attaches the rope to connection points (protection) as he/she ascends the climb (A Lead climb). The length of climb is such that it requires the climber to use more than one "belay" station to complete the climb.

Career Pathway:

Units provide credit towards Diploma of Outdoor Recreation (SIS50310)

Course Duration:

Maximum of 6 months from commencement

Entry Requirment:

HSC (year 12) or a mature background

Note:

HLTFA301B Apply First Aid is a pre-requisite for all courses

Additional Pre-Requisite

SISOOPS305A Provide First Aid in a remote location (remote/wilderness first aid)

Note: The Elearning Units Packaged course price is equivalent to $70.00 per Unit of Competency. Single units of competency are charged at a premium rate.

E-Learning forms part of the assessment process; you will be required to demonstrate that you have an understanding of the knowledge in relation to these Units of Competency. These units will be assessed holistically in conjunction with the Face-to-Face component of this course.

Practical Units (face-to-face) only - $750.00

2 x blocks of 2 days practical training and/or assessment

Documented and Verifiable work experience or logged practice sessions (approx. 30 hours) will be required and form an integral part of the assessment process.
