Caving
Instructor Multi Pitch
An outdoor activity consisting of moving through a natural cave (a natural cave is one which is in its natural state and does not have prepared walkways or pre-placed lighting) and ascent or descent from any level within the cave to any other level within th cave. In this activity, any ascents or descents may involve distances of greater than one rope length, or "pitch". The activity requires the ability to know where you are within the cave, at all times and by use of a map and compass, to be able to find the best way to move from one location to another within the cave. The qualification requires the ability to impart knowledge and skills to enable the participants to independently participate in the activity.

Units provide credit towards Cert IV in Outdoor Recreation (SIS40310)
Course Duration:
Maximum of 6 months from commencement
Entry Requirment:
HSC (year 12) or a mature background
Note:
HLTFA301B Apply First Aid is a pre-requisite for all courses
Additional Pre-Requisite
SISOOPS305A Provide First Aid in a remote location (remote/wilderness first aid)

E-Learning forms part of the assessment process; you will be required to demonstrate that you have an understanding of the knowledge in relation to these Units of Competency. These units will be assessed holistically in conjunction with the Face-to-Face component of this course. |
