Canyoning
Instructor
An outdoor activity consisting of moving down a deep narrow valley with steep sides, often with a stream running through it. In this activity, any descents may involve distances of greater than one rope length, or "pitch". The qualification requires to ability to impart knowledge and skills to enable the participants to independently participate in the activity. The activity requires the ability to know where you are within the canyon, at all times and using a map and compass, to be able to find the best way to move from one location to another.

Units provide credit towards Diploma of Outdoor Recreation (SIS50310)
Course Duration:
Maximum of 6 months from commencement
Entry Requirment:
HSC (year 12) or a mature background
Note:
HLTFA301B Apply First Aid is a pre-requisite for all courses
Additional Pre-Requisite
SISOOPS305A Provide First Aid in a remote location (remote/wilderness first aid)
